Ahornboden

Vomp

“Ahornboden” at the heart of Karwendel Alpine Park is a true natural gem and a popular destination for nature lovers, walkers and mountain bikers. Encircled by the rugged limestone mountains of Karwendel Range, the plateau sits at an elevation of 1,200 meters and is dotted by roughly 2,000 centuries-old sycamore maples, some of which are over 500 years old. Ahornboden is an excellent place for quiet contemplation and discovery, where wind whistles through old sycamore maples. In autumn, these majestic sceneries turn ablaze with fall foliage colours in a most breathtaking fashion. The moraine walls on both sides of Eng Valley are another specific feature of the natural area, with Edelweiss growing wild.
