Innsbruck Alpine Zoo

Innsbruck

Visit the exciting world of wildlife at the impressive Alpine Zoo in Innsbruck. With more than 100 different animal species, children and parents alike are sure to enjoy all the Alpine Zoo has to offer. During the spring, visit the Alpine Zoo to see adorable baby animals.

Peer into habitats of animals native to the area, including ibexes, brown bears, otters, golden eagles and wolves, at the Alpine Zoo high above Tirol’s capital Innsbruck. The zoo is unique in that it focuses solely on the animals that inhabit the Alps. With its distinctive mountainside setting on foot of rugged Nordkette Mountain Range and with engaging exhibits and irresistible attractions, at Innsbruck Alpine Zoo, the wonders of the wild are just a short trip away. Large alpine habitats are home to over 100 species of animals. You’ll find that most animals are in open areas that simulate their natural environments - it’s the visitors who follow enclosed paths within these habitats. Kids will love the working farm on premises where they can mix and mingle with smaller animals such as Turopolje pigs, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens, and cows. Picnic areas with outdoor seating can be found at various locations around the zoo. The lovely sunlit patio is a great place to relax and take a break from your journey around Innsbruck’s Alpine Zoo. Little ones will go wild in our one-of-a-kind, nature-themed playground, which features a bear den. That's just the start of your WILD adventure at the Zoo!
