Filzalmsee Lake has a picture-postcard setting wrapped along lush Alpine pastures on foot of Hohe Salve Mountain at an elevation of 1,300 meters. The lake is within a five minutes’ walk from the Hochbrixen Gondola Top Terminal. The scenic on-mountain recreation area on the shores of this lovely mountain lake has a theme that lives up to the legend of a local Giant. This Giant is asleep in the lake and waking him up is hard to do: Little ones must pedal hard using a treadmill pump… and will have a great time when the Giant finally emerges from the lake. A giant hand, which can be moved by ropes, a giant sand pit, a giant xylophone and a small and a big giant’s trail round out the giant theme. The biotope next to the lake makes for stunning nature exploration with a rich variety of native plants and animal life. Nature discovery stations have been set up to unlock the secrets of the underwater world.
