Stillebach swimming lake

There are a few rare places which are so beautiful that they almost take your breath away. The natural swimming lake in St. Leonhard in the Pitztal Valley is one such location.

Surrounded by the Mittagskogel and Wildspitze mountains, this small lake is a haven of peace and quiet. In the background thunders the mighty Klockelefall, one of the largest waterfalls in the Pitztal Valley and illumined at night. Swimming in the lake is permitted, though its altitude (1,400m) means that the water is relatively cold, even in summer. Other attractions include a Kneipp water therapy facility near the lake. The lakeside café and the Biohotel Stillebach with its beautiful terrace overlooking the lake serve good food.
