Brixental Region amid the Kitzbühel Alps is a wonderful place to admire colorful cattle drives. Two festivals will take place in Kirchberg in Tirol, complete with folk music, local crafts and farmer’s market.
The first Alpine Festivals will take place at Lend car park in the village center of Kirchberg, in Brixen im Thale and in Westendorf on September 21, 2024. From 10:00am onwards, locals and visitors will meet and mingle at the local crafts and farmer’s market in Kirchberg and enjoy live folk music in anticipation of the lavishly decorated herds that are driven down from their summer grazing pastures.
One week later, on September 28, 2024, another cattle drive will be celebrated at Elisabeth Hotel in Kirchberg. The herds are rounded-up at the hotel’s own show cheese dairy named “Kasplatzl” in Spertental Valley. The colorful parade will run past Elisabeth Hotel and end up at Scherrhof Farm in Kirchberg with live music and culinary delicacies. Festivities begin around 10:30am; the cows are expected to arrive by 12:00 noon.
