The first European Winter Walking Days are a wonderful opportunity to take in the beauty of the scenic environs of St. Johann in Tirol through a series of guided walks. The Kitzbühel Alps are a true gem for wintry walks and the program includes a trip to Maria Blut Hermitage, a torchlight walk with a stop at a quaint mountain cabin and snowshoeing on foot of rugged Wilder Kaiser Range. Moreover, there will be biathlon for everyone and a romantic backcountry ski tour under a full moon.
Over the same weekend, the Association of European Hikers will organize the inaugural European Snowshoe Championships. Both events will officially kick-off with a festive opening ceremony at the music pavilion in Kirchdorf on January 17, 2019 at 8:00pm.
