Austrian-born designer Stefan Sagmeister will present his “Why Beauty Matters” lecture at Europahaus in Mayrhofen, highlighting the rebirth and significance of beauty in design.
Sagmeister is the co-founder of the design partnership Sagmeister & Walsh in New York City. In 2018, their exhibit "Beauty" attracted thousands of visitors worldwide and became one of the most visited graphic design show in history. A native of the Austrian province of Vorarlberg based in New York, he discusses large subjects such as happiness or beauty, how they connect to design and what that actually means within people’s everyday lives.
In his lecture, "Why Beauty Matters", award-winning designer and speaker Sagmeister examines what beauty is. He will use examples from architecture, design and science to show that beauty is no mere surface strategy. He will try to prove that humans not only feel differently when they are surrounded by beauty, but that they also behave differently.
With a long list of renowned projects and briefs under his belt, Sagmeister will return to Europahaus in Mayrhofen in September 2021 with his “Why Beauty Matters” lecture, highlighting the rebirth and significance of beauty in design. This event is a collaboration between the Tirol Tourist Board and the Convention Bureau Tirol.
