Volunteering on Gungglalm Alpine Pasture

Volunteer tourism opportunities are a growing vacation trend with a distinct advantage: Not only is your vacation in the mountains a feel-good experience, you also get to see some of Zillertal Nature Park’s most beautiful scenery.

If you like being outdoors on your vacation, the chance to join the “Gungglalm Environmental Construction Site” volunteering project in Upper Zillertal Valley this July is an immensely rewarding experience. On this weeklong volunteer “vacation”, participants stay on one of the Alpine pasture lodges high above Ginzling, at an elevation of 1,450 meters and work in the heart of the wilderness amidst striking scenery. Tasks include invasive tree and shrub removal and the (re)building of traditionally constructed dry-stone walls. Up to eight people aged between 16 and 30 can join the project.
