Bye bye summer, hello winter: One of the longest established winter opening festivals in the world, the KTO is a weekend full of testivals, concerts and partying, deeply shrouded in legend.
Now in its 35th year (older than most of the attendees!), the Kaunertal Opening takes place October 9 to 11, 2020. Blue bird powder days, massive shreds, heaps of side events, party sound at its finest and extraordinary community spirit are highlights of the KTO, deeply shrouded in legend.
For the 35th time in a row, the evadable boundaries between skiers and snowboarders are broken and a distinctive flair will be created. During the day, festival visitors and pros are on their boards and freestyle skis and the judges praise the best moves with awards. Moreover, the Festival will boast the newest stuff of about 60 leading brands for free testing. In the evenings, the event moves from the glacier into the valley, where good old crowd surfing is once again in demand at the After-Ride-Street Party in the village of Feichten with international live acts and top DJs, street food vendors and film screenings (admission is free).
