The Tirol Festival Erl will present a rich variety of cultural highlights for music lovers this winter, including Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, two opera performances, an operetta and various concerts.
This year’s winter season at the Tirol Festival Erl again opens with Johann Sebastian Bach’s Christmas Oratorio on December 10, 2023. The “Snow Maiden” (subtitle: A Spring Fairy Tale) by Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakow is one of the operas that will be put to the stage by artistic director Bernd Loebe.
Adolphe Adam’s “The Postillion of Lonjumeau”, an opéra-comique in three acts, will return to the Erl opera stage. The old year is bid farewell with Franz Lehárs operetta “The Count of Luxembourg”. Moreover, the winter program also includes a concert by Musicbanda Franui and a concert given by the Tölz Boys’ Choir. For little ones, there will be two “Polster Concerts”. Of course, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day concerts will be part of the seasonal programming as well. The final concert will offer works by Prokofjew, Mahler and Dvořák.
