Lienz at Christmas: Sparkle this Holiday Season

Deeply rooted in tradition, the Advent Market at the Main Square of Lienz enchants visitors with an old-fashioned Christmastime, including a nativity scene exhibition and a strolling night watchman. A centuries-old tradition, large, foreboding, black-clad and antlers on his head, devilish figures called “Krampus” roam the streets of Lienz on evenings around St. Nicholas’ feast, which is December 06.

Each year the Lienz Main Square is transformed into a magical Christmas winter wonderland, full of holiday lights, Thursday lantern nights and a strolling night watchman. An array of accompanying events are great additions to Lienz Advent Season and further add to the spirit-filled atmosphere of the season.
