Situated at the foot of the majestic Ballunspitze mountain above the village of Galtür, the circular Tschaffein XC skiing trail is 3.3km in length and a great way to explore the end of the Paznauntal Valley. It has just 50 vertical metres of uphill, making it suitable for cross-country skiers of all abilities. The trail is designed for both the Classic and Skating techniques and is known simply as "L4".

Trail description
The trail begins at the ice skating rink in Galtür and runs along the banks of the Trisanna river as far as the settlement of Tschaffein, where it completes a loop towards the south and returns along the fields back to the starting point in Galtür.
