Drau cycle path Sillian – Lienz - Nikolsdorf

This 50-kilometre easy family bike ride has its starting point in the market town of Sillian and offers magnificent views as you ride along the Drau river through the Pustertal Valley to Lienz. From Lienz, the Drauradweg cycle path leads to Spittal. The route from Sillian to Lienz takes 2 hours and 40 minutes, plus 45 additional minutes from Lienz to Nikolsdorf.

  • The Aigner Badl in Abfaltersbach, near the Drauradweg cycle path, is a historic Tirolean “Bauernbad”, a term used to refer to traditional mineral baths that also offer lodging and food. In use since 1772, these particular baths are fed by a calcium sulphate mineral spring. Enjoy a relaxing bath in a larch tub with a lid.
  • The Vitalpinum near the Drautalstraße road in Thal-Assling is home to Tirol’s first mountain pine oil distillery, the Latschenölbrennerei Brüder Unterweger. It also features an adventure park spread over more than 5,000 square metres.
  • Shortly after Leisach lies the Galitzenklamm, a deep canyon surrounded by high rock faces. A series of trails and bridges takes gives visitors the chance to experience up close the incredible power of the Galitzenbach stream and its waterfalls.
