Kronburg ride

This 20km ride of intermediate difficulty is ideal for beginners. The main highlight is the Kronburgschlucht, an impressive canyon measuring just a few metres in width but up to 70 metres in depth. Riders can also visit the pilgrimage church close to the ruins of the mighty fortress perched high above the valley. The ride contains no difficult sections and is easy for experienced riders.

  • From Landeck, the Inn Valley Cycle Path leads riders to Schönwies. Shortly before arriving at the village of Schönwies, the route then branches off up to the Kronburg fortress, where riders can have a rest and a snack at the Gasthof Kronburg.
  • The short walk to the ruins of Kronburg fortress is rewarded with excellent views of the Inn Valley and surrounding mountains. The nearby pilgrimage church is a place of peace and reflection and well worth a visit.
  • The hilltop that is home to the Kronburg fortress was inhabited even in prehistoric times.
