Trail description

The Chainless One can be accessed from the middle station of the Muttereralmbahn cable car via two other trails: The First One and The Simple One. The start of the trail The Chainless One is off to the right-hand side. Alternatively, fit riders can make their way to the top using pedal power along mountainbike route 510.

The first section of the trail is fast and flowing, including a few rollers and small jumps in quick succession. After a sharp right-hand turn there is a wider section on a dirt road before riders turn off left again into the forest.

It doesn't take long for riders to pick up speed once again as as they negotiate a combination of wide turns, small jumps and perfectly shaped berms.

At 1,312 metres above sea level riders reach a wooden construction leading up over a fence. Here the trail turns 180° and returns back over the same fence. The next section is along a dirt road before the trail turns off right into the forest.

Corners, tables, jumps and rollers make for fun riding. Advanced riders can turn on the speed here, while beginners will still enjoy the flow even if they take things at their own tempo.

At 1,170 metres above sea level the trail crosses the dirt road once again before continuing as before in the forest. This is a section where experienced riders can pick up a lot of speed if they keep the momentum going.

Slowly but surely the forest becomes thinner and riders enter open terrain. There are two wooden bridges back to the dirt road, which riders then follow for a short while. A little later the trail turns off left and offers a final 100 vertical metres of flowy fun before concluding at the bottom station of the Muttereralmbahn cable car.

Tip! The trails The First One and The Chainless One offer a total of 7.3 kilometres of downhill fun and action.
