Putzen-Alpe (also known as Putzenalm) is a beautiful alpine farm and day trip destination in the Arlberg region of the Lechtal Alps, north of St. Anton am Arlberg. The farm has its own alpine dairy, where excellent mountain cheese is produced. Tirolean delicacies such as “Gröstl - sautéed potatoes with meat and fried egg” and “Speckknödel - bacon dumplings” are on the menu at this welcoming alpine guesthouse. The high altitude location presents various difficulties to those managing the land - problems that would not occur with lower level meadows. The farmers responsible for tending this terrain simply shrug this off. When asked what differentiates the Arlberg meadows from other meadows, they simply say: “It just snows a more often here!”
