Salvenbahn I+II

Lift closed

The Hohe Salve, one of the most beautiful mountains in Tirol, can be reached using the Salvenbahn cable car from the village of Hopfgarten. At the top of the cable car visitors can look forward to breathtaking views of the highest mountains in Austria, the Großvenediger and the Großglockner, as well as the craggy peaks of the Rofan Mountains. The area around the top of the cable car has plenty of hiking trails connecting cosy wooden huts serving traditional food. The cable car itself is divided into two sections. Together they climb an impressive 1,200 vertical metres in just 20 minutes. The Salvenkirche perched atop the summit of the Hohe Salve is the highest pilgrimage church in Austria.
