The forest trail between the top station and the mid-way station of the Spieljochbahn cable car in the Zillertal Valley is used as a family-friendly toboggan run in winter. At an impressive 6km in length and dropping 670 vertical metres from start to finish, this run of intermediate difficulty is 3.5 metres wide throughout and winds its way down the mountain via several corners to the Gasthof Kohleralmhof inn. The toboggan run crosses the ski piste on several occasions, and one section runs parallel to a ski route. However, these sections are clearly signposted. The toboggan run is open daily from 8:30 until 16:30. Toboggans can be hired for a small fee at the top station of the cable car.
