Winter Walk

This easy and mostly flat winter walk is perfect for families with children. It starts at the Gasthaus Arzkasten at the foot of the Miemig Mountains and leads through fields and meadows to the east of Holzleiten. Along the way there is a play area for youngsters. The walk finishes back at the Gasthaus Arzkasten, which serves hearty local food.

Trail description

The walk begins at the pay-and-display car park next to the Gasthaus Arzkasten. Head north towards the Lehnberghaus, then turn left onto the sunny trail on the Mieming Plateau. Follow the trail along the edge of the forest, past a play area and then through the settlement of Weisland. Cross the winter walking trail and follow the walking trail in a southerly/westerly direction. On the edge of the settlemrnt of Holzleiten you will find the Kinderhotel Lärchenhof, a good place to stop for a snack and a drink. Turn left onto hiking trail number 20 and after a few hundred metres take another trail left to the car park (trail 19a).
