Kammerlanderhof

Description

Guided tours every Monday from 15.00 to 18.00
Admission € 5,00

The association “s' Kammerland - Cultural Initiative Thurn” was founded in 2001 and has since been striving for the restoration and maintenance of the 500-year-old, listed Stubenhaus, which represents a unique agricultural cultural asset in its authenticity. Through the restoration measures of the interiors, facades, and balconies, as well as the wood shingle roofing and the reconstruction of the farmhouse garden, the Kammerlanderhof has regained its authentic appearance.

In summer (from mid-June to mid-September), the house is open to visitors every Monday from 15.00 to 18.00. Particularly worth seeing are the original smoking kitchen, the corn cupboard with old tools and grain chests, and the small bedroom with furniture from around 1900. The attic exhibit (cobbler's workshop, cooking room, linen production and processing) provides insights into historic agricultural craftsmanship. The living room is also used as a cozy center for social gatherings and smaller events, such as poetry readings.
