Description

Almkirchtag on June 28, 26 starting at 11:30 a.m. with Alm blessing, followed by live music with the Sunnroan Musig.

At the end of the Eppzirlertal valley, a pasture surrounded by rugged limestone peaks extends. In the 16th century, valuable Tyrolean stone oil was extracted in this breathtaking natural setting, and even Emperor Maximilian particularly enjoyed trekking in the area around the Eppzirler Alm. To this day, the active alpine farming with about 90 head of cattle at an altitude of 1,459 meters remains a popular destination for hikers and families.

The impressive panoramic view of Erlspitz, Eppzirler Scharte, Kuhjochspitze, and Reitherspitze is framed by lush alpine meadows at the cozy inn in the Alps. From early June to the end of October, hut owner Christian serves hungry guests Tyrolean delicacies from the farm and delicious refreshments on the sun terrace. Children are always welcome on the more than 1100-hectare alpine farm, and pilgrims can even find a small Marian chapel. By the way, according to legends, somewhere in the area, 30 tons of imperial gold are said to have been hidden after the war. So far, no one has found it.
