Description

The family-friendly alpine hut is located in the heart of the picturesque Gaistal valley between the Wetterstein Mountains and the Mieminger Kette. The Gaistalalm is easily accessible all year round, even with children, and during the warm summer months offers a real alpine pasture with cows and a playground at 1373 metres above sea level. A cosy sun terrace offers picturesque views of the Alps and can also be used for private parties on request. The Gaistalalm can be reached either on foot or by (e-)bike, a bike storage facility is of course available for the duration of your stay, but you must bring your own charger.

OVERNIGHT STAY
By prior reservation on +43 5214 5190, up to 15 people can stay at the charming alpine hut during the summer months in the 9-mattress dormitory or 4-bed room. A delicious Alpine breakfast is then included, e-bikes can be charged overnight (charger must be brought along) and dogs are also welcome in the hut on request.

STARTING POINT
Starting point of the tour is the paid car park Salzbachor the bus stop Leutasch Salzbach/Gaistal. From there you can reach the Gaistalm comfortably and relaxed on foot, with prams or by (e-)bike on a wide forest path. A carriage ride to the Gaistalalm is also a particularly romantic way to get to the Gaistalm - on request by calling Josef Kluckner on +43 5214 6491.

SUMMER TOURS

• hike to the Gaistalalm. The ascent via the Ganghoferweg starts directly from the Salzbach car park in the Leutascher Gaistal, leads below the Hämmermoosalm on a wide forest path westwards and in about one and a half hours to the Gaistalm. A little further on, you can also visit the Tillfußalm below the Jagdhaus Hubertus on the alpine pasture hiking trail, returning along the same path.

• Eagle Path to Ehrwald. On the Ganghoferweg you reach the Gaistalalm , turn west and then first reach the Igelsee lake and finally the Ehrwalder Alm. A little below the alpine pasture, the hiking trail then continues on to Ehrwald. For the approximately seven-hour, medium-difficult hike, you need more stamina than strength, so the tour is recommended for children aged 12 and over.

WINTER TOURS

• Winter hiking trail. Even in winter you can reach the snow-covered Gaistalalm in the natural paradise of Leutasch on broadly cleared winter hiking trail. During the winter months the warm host Nikolai and his team spoil exhausted hikers on the Way with steaming hot drinks, honest home-style cooking and an impressive alpine panorama.
