Nestled in the Tux Alps, the Gart Alm at 1,860m with its wonderful alpine slopes and flower meadows is a true paradise for hikers, cyclists, and climbers.
For 120 years, this idyllic alpine pasture has been managed by our family, and since the 1970s we have also been treating hungry hikers to Tyrolean alpine delicacies. Many still rave about our Kaiserschmarrn or Tyrolean speck dumplings!
In the summer, 45-50 cows graze at the Gart Alm, which are milked daily. Of course, fresh milk can also be tasted! Besides the dairy cows, we have about 20 young animals on the pasture, several ponies, around 20 pigs, and several turkeys. All animals roam freely and enjoy the alpine summer in harmony with nature. Meanwhile, fish frolic in the pond in front of the alpine hut.
From our terrace, you can watch the adorable marmots closely! Those who pay attention can even spot ptarmigans, snow hares, black grouse & capercaillie, roe deer, red deer, chamois, and mouflons around the alpine pasture. The king of the skies, the eagle, also regularly circles above the alpine pasture.
