Description
The cozy Hämmermoosalm (1,417m) is beautifully located at the beginning of the Gaistal, is operated year-round, and is easily accessible for families. You can reach the Alm via a wide gravel path (toboggan run in winter) or the bike-free - but slightly steeper - Ganghoferweg.
Alm Breakfast
Every Saturday and Sunday from 09:00 to 12:00, there is an Alm Brunch for € 35,- per person – reservation required (by email or phone).
At the hut, four dining rooms provide plenty of space for enjoyment; private celebrations can also be hosted there upon request. During the summer months, guests naturally enjoy the spacious sun terrace, admiring the mountain panorama in the shade of expansive umbrellas.
In summer from May to October, numerous hikes and bike tours attract visitors to the picturesque Wetterstein mountain range, and there are plenty of exciting adventures for children at the Alm playground surrounding the hut. E-bikes can be charged at the hut, but you must bring your own charger.
To this day, Hämmermoosalm continues to operate actively as an alpine facility - special consideration must be given to grazing livestock. During the winter season, a family-friendly natural toboggan run operates from December to March from the hut into the valley.
STARTING POINT
The Hämmermoosalm can be easily and quickly reached via various routes: By car from the Salzbach parking lot in Gaistal, or for public transport users, the hike begins at the bus stop "Leutasch Salzbach". Adventurers and lovers can also comfortably reach the Alm by horse-drawn carriage.
