Description

This stage connects the tranquil Pillerseetal valley with the lively Brixental valley and is one of the most pleasant days of the KAT Bike Light Tour. The route mainly runs along well-maintained cycle paths and side roads and offers a consistent elevation profile without any long or steep climbs. The start is in St. Ulrich am Pillersee. The route first leads past Lake Wiesensee to Hochfilzen, which is also the highest point of the tour. The climb there is even and easy to ride, allowing you to settle into a comfortable rhythm. After Hochfilzen, the cycle path leads to Fieberbrunn, from where it then continues to St. Johann. From St. Johann to Kitzbühel, you ride leisurely through the Leukental valley. The landscape changes noticeably here: the valley widens and the paths become quieter and flatter. The last few kilometers lead leisurely to Kirchberg in Tirol, where the stage ends. Numerous places to stop for refreshments and overnight stays make Kirchberg an ideal stage destination.
