Challenging bike route through the wild romantic Fundus Valley, always accompanied by the Fundusbach – pure idyll guaranteed.
Demanding MTB trails with difficult sections that require both good fitness and riding skills. Steep sections uphill and downhill are to be expected. The focus is on conditioning and technical biking on scenic alpine routes.
Appropriate equipment such as breathable clothing and weather-appropriate outdoor wear, bike helmet, gloves, sunglasses, and a GPS device or map material. For bike routes without places to stop for food, sufficient provisions are necessary.
The starting point of this challenging mountain bike route is located in the village center of Umhausen. From there, follow the signs for the Ötztal bike path (No. 11) upstream until you reach the Ötztaler Ache. Turn right there and follow the signs towards Frischmannhütte. A wide gravel road winds up the west slope of the Ötztal in numerous switchbacks. Passing the front Fundusalm (not operated), you ride, accompanied by the babbling of the Fundusbach, further to the operated Hintere Fundusalm. The last climb leads via a wide gravel road to Frischmannhütte. Once at the top, enjoy the beautiful panorama with a delicious Tyrolean bread snack. Return to Umhausen by the same route.
