Tyrolean delicacies, a sun terrace with a view of the Stubai Alps and an e-bike charging station - the tour to the Amberger Hütte is neither too steep nor too long and is perfect as an e-bike tour.
This tour leads from Längenfeld through the Sulztal valley to the Amberger Hütte at 2,134 m on asphalt or gravel. Not only the idyllic and peculiar Sulztal valley on the Breite Grießkogel offers numerous impressive views of the peaks of the Stubai Alps, but of course also the Amberger Hütte. Here you can also recharge your e-bike battery.
Sporty bike control and defensive riding behavior are required due to the partially steep climbs and more difficult downhill sections, and the demands on endurance and riding technique are rated as medium. The focus is on sporty, active (pleasure) cycling.
Appropriate equipment such as breathable clothing and outdoor clothes suited to the weather, bicycle helmet, gloves, sunglasses and a GPS device or maps. For bike rides without refreshment options, sufficient provisions are necessary.
The starting point is at the Längenfeld sports center. From here, cycle towards the main street, turn right before the fire station and ride up a short climb to the Fischbach. Cross the bridge there and then turn left onto the main street, which you also cross. Along the Fischbach, cycle to a bridge, cross it, and continue through the forest. After a while you reach a bridge where you can already see the village of Gries. Through the village of Gries and past the parking lot. Continue riding on the gravel road until you reach a crossroads. There, turn left towards the Amberger Hut, accompanied by a sea of alpine roses (blooming period mid to late June), follow the path and cycle along the beautiful Sulztal, always accompanied by the Fischbach. Past the Vorderen Sulztalalm (closed due to renovation work in summer 2025) and Hinteren Sulztalalm (not managed), the high valley becomes increasingly barren. At 2,136 meters, the Amberger Hut already appears. Once at the top, enjoy the breathtaking panorama with several 3,000-meter peaks.
Travel comfortably and safely by train to the Ötztal train station. The final stop or exit point is ÖTZTAL station.
