Description

Option 1: Ascent via the MTB route Marienbergjoch 835
Option 2: Ascent with the Marienberg cable cars section 1 + 2

Barbarasteig Trail | Route no. 869
Rauhe Gasse Trail | Route no. 870

The trail starts in the gravel bend of MTB route 835 at approx. 1480m and crosses the Mure.
If you use the lift as an ascent aid or pedal up to the Sunnalm (approx. 150m above), you can include the first section of the Marienberg Trail.
Behind the Mure, Barbarasteig to the left and Marienbergtrail to the right separate.
You start your trail descent through the sparse forest on the Marienberg on a technical, partly blocked trail with roots. Varying terrain from dirt, roots and gravel to loose forest soil and technical as well as faster sections make this natural single trail a varied mountain bike experience!
At the end, follow the forest path to the right for approx. 150 m and turn left below the “Waldhaus Talblick” into the “Rauhe Gasse”. This short, wide trail takes you back towards the Marienbergbahn 1 valley station.
