Challenging 50-km tour with magnificent Alpine panoramas from Reutte to Garmisch-Partenkirchen
The cycle tour takes sports enthusiasts on an impressive 50-kilometre route through the picturesque landscape of the Lechtal and Ammergau Alps. From the starting point in Reutte, the route follows the historic Via Claudia Augusta cycle path, which impresses with its rich Roman history and offers numerous cultural and natural highlights.
After reaching the Ehrwald basin, the route continues through the Lermooser Moos, where it changes to the Loisach Cycle Path. This leads along the charming course of the Loisach river and accompanies cyclists through this idyllic scenery. From this point, the route runs spectacularly at the foot of the Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain, offering fascinating views and an incomparable closeness to alpine nature.
After crossing the German-Austrian border, the well-developed cycle path of the district of Garmisch-Partenkirchen leads cyclists directly along the southern edge of Garmisch to the Olympic ski jumping stadium, which serves as the impressive end point of the tour. The close proximity to the town center and the main train station of Garmisch-Partenkirchen facilitates arrival and offers a convenient onward journey.
