Mountainbike-Tour Hochfilzen Hoametzl round trip 2015

A bike tour on which you can not only "experience" some of the stations of the Biathlon World Championship Trail, but also the popular Hoametzl Hut by bike.

Description

The tour starts at the Tour Rast car park in Hochfilzen. From here you cycle along the asphalt road towards Hochfilzen village and turn right at the Glaa farm. Following the Tennweg, you first cross a bridge, then continue straight uphill along an asphalt road. From the turnoff to the Obertenn holiday farm, the tour runs along a gravelled forest path. Follow this steadily uphill to Hoametzl Hütte.
Stop and enjoy is the motto! The terrace is sunny, the panorama magnificent! The stations of the Biathlon World Championship Trail and the Steinberg King invite you to explore.
From the Hoametzl Hut, you cycle up a few more metres of altitude along the gravel path before reaching the highest point of the tour and beginning the descent.
The tour leads through managed pastureland. Please watch out for grazing animals, drive at a moderate speed and on sight, especially in the area of the stables!
Back on the asphalt road, the route leads slightly uphill to the right and back to the starting point.

Alternative: approx. 3 km after the start, you have the option of leaving the Kammbergweg to the left and taking the connecting route towards Pfaffenschwendt - Buchensteinwandrundweg.
