Samnaun-Compatsch - Spiss Rundtour
The tour begins in the center of Samnaun Compatsch (near the adventure pool or the church) and steadily ascends along the national border into the Zander Valley. After crossing the Malfragbach and the national border, the path runs alongside the Zander meadows until reaching Fliesser Alm. Below the Alm, the trail crosses the Zandersbach and follows it downstream to the Malfragbach. From here, the path gently ascends again towards Muttakopf and then to Spiss. Passing a nice playground with a fire pit, there is a slight descent down to Spiss (1,678 m above sea level), the highest village municipality in Austria. The tour then follows the main road for about 1.5 km to the sawmill below Compatsch. From here, the forest road leads south of the Schergenbach until just below Laret, where the final stretch into the village takes you back to the starting point.
