Tirol has lots of family-friendly bike rides on tarmac cycle paths and gravel trails. Some of them lead along the banks of rivers, others into the mountains. There are one-day rides and multi-day adventures. Many take in playgrounds and huts.
Family-friendly bike rides are generally flat or have only a gentle gradient. They are well-signposted, safe and featureinteresting sights along the way – playgrounds, exhibitions, huts serving food, or maybe even a working dairy in the mountains.
That depends very much on how old the children are and how much experience they have riding a bike. Children under the age of six are generally not able to ride very far and can only manage gentle uphill gradients. Children above this age who ride frequently with their parents can normally complete an average stage of a long-distance cycle trail. Please be aware that riders wishing to complete a ride with children sitting in a trailer being pulled behind the bike should take a close look at the type of trail (tarmac, gravel, etc.) and the gradients involved before setting off.
