The second stage of the Alpine crossing follows a scenic long-distance hiking trail from Wildbad Kreuth in Bavaria, Germany, to Achenkirch am Achensee in Tirol, Austria.
Stage 2 of the Alpine crossing starts at historic Wildbad Kreuth and follows a path through mixed beech forest to the alpine pastures of Gaisalm. The route continues along a gentle ridge and later through mountain pines to the Bavarian–Tirolean border ridge. From here, there are wide views in both directions, from the plains north of Lake Tegernsee to the Zillertal Alps. After a stop at the traditional Blaubergalm, the route leads on an easy path through former imperial hunting grounds to Achenwald and Achenkirch.
