Challenging adventure hike to the Ellmauer Tor
You start at the Wochenbrunner Alm hiking starting point and hike towards the Gaudeamushütte. Continue on trail 812 across alpine meadows, through mountain pines, over a short section secured by ropes and later over the scree fields and rocky passages into the Ellmauer Tor. Now you are in the heart of the Wilder Kaiser and, with a bit of luck, you can watch climbers on the imposing rock faces. The way back leads along the same route to the Wochenbrunner Alm. Round off this wonderful mountain tour with a Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake).
Tip: for experienced mountain walkers, we recommend heading back either via the Jubiläumssteig (black mountain path) to the Gruttenhütte mountain hut or via the Bergsteigergrab to the Gaudeamushütte mountain hut and back to the starting point.
TIP:
Thursdays - guided tour with a Tyrolean mountain hiking guide.
