Rugged Rock Walls in the Pristine Kaiserbachtal Valley
The unspoiled Kaiserbachtal Valley and the jagged Wilder Kaiser Mountains have been attracting hikers, mountaineers and nature lovers for centuries. In the summer the small side valley, which is part of the Kaisergebirge Nature Preserve, serves as base for countless hiking and rock climbing tours. The impressive mountain range is shrouded in mystery and home to many stories. This hike starts at the parking lot in Kaiserbachtal in the hamlet of Griesenau. Follow the trail into the valley. The views of the peaks are quite stunning. Near the Fischbachalm is a small chapel, which commemorates mountaineers who died in the Kaiser Range. The hike continues further into the valley and leads past cabins until Griesner Alm. Backtrack the way you came.
