Maria Brettfall - Rottenburg - Rotholz - Strass (Trail Nr. 3)

Beschreibung

Set off from the Municipal office and head past the festival hall before heading up the Kirchsteig towards the hamlet of Astholz. After the underpass, follow the good hiking trail along a winding path heading up through the forest until you reach the Maria Brettfall church of pilgrimage. The trail continues 
uphill from there to Ellerboden (a short climb on the right leads to a lookout point that offers a magnificent view) – Stay on the forest road until this merges with the Öxltalweg trail.  The asphalt road heads downhill where the route enters the hiking trail to Rottenburg. There the hiking trail heads uphill through the forest to 
Rottenburg. At the archway, the woodland path starts to descend to Rotholz to the Gasthof Esterhammer. Turn left as soon as you pass the inn and head towards Thurnegg Castle. Pass through the courtyard of the castle until you enter the Lindenallee and then follow Lindenallee back to Strass.
