Description

Right next to the mountain station of Section I of the Finkenberger Almbahnen, at 1,800 m, this fascinating tour begins. Along hiking trails no. 22 b and 55 from Penken to Schrofenalm we find the moors embedded in alpine meadows. Numerous experience stations and display boards bring interested hikers closer to this sensitive high alpine habitat. Descent to Tux-Vorderlanersbach via "Stockbauer" on trail no. 55.
TIP: Magnificent mountain panorama!

Swampy moor lands, such as the Niedermoore along the edge of the Moorland educational path, rank in Austria as an endangered habitat. The Niedermoor is particularly affected by the terrain conditions and mineral soil, with a varied mixture of slate, lime and silicate plants in this area. 23 endangered species and 6 protected species have been detected along this educational path. Informative display boards inform about the variety of plant species and the wild life in a wetland area. The trail describes the development and importance of the so-called lowland moors, which are produced when an area turns to swamp. Very typical vegetation (many protected and endangered species) lives in harmony with these moors.
