Description

You start at the car park in Praxmar, from where the trail first leads towards the Schefalm. From there, follow the well-maintained path up to the Oberstkogel. The ascent is steadily ascending and in large parts moderately difficult, so requires some fitness, but remains technically feasible.

Below the Oberstkogel, the route branches off and continues to the summit of the Zischgel - a popular panoramic mountain with impressive views over the Lüsenstal valley and the surrounding mountains.

The descent is either along the same route back or as a circular tour: in several, sometimes steep hairpin bends, the route leads down to the Satteljoch and on via the Kampljoch back to Praxmar.

Incidentally, the name Zischgeles is derived from the first name Franziskus - ‘Zischg’ is an old Tyrolean term of endearment.

Refreshment stop: in the valley at Gasthof Praxmar - ideal for refreshments after the tour.
