With so many easy and sunny hikes on the Mieminger Plateau, it is difficult for us to choose just one. Fortunately, this tour via the Stöttlalm and Moosalm can be extended in all directions. Because most of the time you can't get enough of the spring sunshine and the many places to stop for refreshments on the lovely Mieminger Plateau anyway.
The circular hike over the Stöttlalm bridge to the Stöttlalm and Moosalm is an easy and enjoyable tour on the Mieminger Plateau - ideal for anyone who wants to be outdoors without too much effort and combine forest, open meadows and beautiful views. The tour is easy to do in terms of fitness; technically, it remains uncomplicated as you are mainly on forest and asphalt paths. This makes it ideal for leisurely hikers, families and as a relaxed half-day tour.
Highlights include the refreshment stops at Stöttlalm and Moosalm, which give the tour a truly enjoyable character. In between, a pleasant section of forest (with a playground as a family-friendly extra) and the wide mossy meadows with typical larch meadows and old barns provide variety. The views of the landscape conservation area and the striking Mieminger mountain range are particularly beautiful - a peaceful, panoramic walk with "plateau flair" and several places to linger. This is also wonderful in the shoulder seasons of fall and spring, as it is south-facing and the refreshment stops are open all year round. The hike can easily be extended via Wildermieming to Gasthof Gerhardhof or to Untermieming to Gasthaus Locherboden or westwards across the larch meadows from Gschwent to Gasthof Stern.
This circular hike links the Stöttlalm mountain hut located above Golfpark Mieming with the Moosalm restaurant and guesthouse in Barwies. The hike starts from Lehnbach car park and leads along a forest road that gently climbs up to the Stöttlalm mountain hut. This is a great place to take a short break. Afterwards, follow the same route back down for a short distance and then cross the Lehnbach stream. Continue along the forest road over the new Stöttlalmbrücke bridge towards the Moosalm guesthouse.
After a long stretch through the forest, which also passes a children's playground, you reach the vast open landscapes of the Mooswiesen meadows. Follow the wide path through the characteristic larch meadows with their old barns until you reach the next lovely place for a break: the Moosalm restaurant and guesthouse. The terrace here also offers wonderful views of the nature reserve and the impressive Mieming Range. The route back follows the same path through the forest to Obermieming. After leaving the woods, follow the forest road to the right towards Siedlung and back to the starting point.
