This bridge has been hanging over the Inn since 1935 and connects the small village of Stams with a beautiful loop through the Mieminger Locherboden. Incidentally, the suspension bridge also has a perforated floor - there you can see the blue Inn flowing below you.
Beautiful and easy circular hike through the forest to the Inn floodplains with a romantic old suspension bridge and optional waterfall detour. Via Locherboden with its pilgrimage church, the trail leads leisurely through Zein and Tabland back to the starting point. At Locherboden you can watch rock climbers working on their projects.
From the parking lot at the bathing lake, head east through the forest. After crossing a small bridge, follow the signs towards Mühlhof. After a few meters, turn right over the bridge towards Stams/Hängebrücke. Passing a small chapel, a well-maintained footpath leads in serpentines down to the Inn floodplains. There, the impressive suspension bridge spans the Inn. On this side of the river, you can make a detour to a waterfall: The narrow path leads eastwards directly to the waterfall. From the suspension bridge, a path leads back up to the Mieminger Plateau (Locherboden). After visiting the pilgrimage church, continue on a good footpath and later on asphalt. The trail runs through the districts of Zein and Tabland back to the starting point at the bathing lake.
