From the parking area at Lake Hechtsee, the path follows the shoreline directly, crossing soft forest ground and fine gravel, passing quiet stretches of shore to the lake’s outflow, where a small bridge leads across the water. The trail then continues along the opposite side of the lake, offering open views of the water and the Kaiser Mountains, which reflect beautifully in the lake on clear days, before returning to the starting point.
An ideal route for a relaxing walk by the water, easily extended with a detour to the Thierberg Chapel, where lovely views over the Inn Valley await.
Leisure bus line 50 connects Kufstein with Lake Hechtsee eight times daily during the swimming season on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. During the summer holidays, the service operates daily. This offers an environmentally friendly and stress-free way to travel, and with the KufsteinCard, KufsteinerlandCard, as well as the KlimaTicket Tirol and Austria, the journey is even free of charge.
