Description

The route from Axams to Axamer Kögele is a popular and challenging on-piste ski tour. It starts at the southern end of Axams. Just before the road branches off toward Axamer Lizum, there are several paid parking spaces (parking lanes) on Kögelestraße near the Sonnenlift Axams. From here, you set off across a wide meadow to the actual ski route. It climbs steadily up the Axamer Abfahrt between two patches of forest. At the beginning, you’ll need to navigate some very steep sections (often icy in late winter/early spring). In the middle section, the terrain levels off somewhat. After the upper tree line, there are two more steep slopes leading to the destination, Axamer Kögele.

Descent: via the open-terrain ski route “Axamer Abfahrt” down into the valley

CAUTION! Please be sure to observe the avalanche warning levels!
For trips in off-piste areas, appropriate equipment, local knowledge, and experience in assessing hazards such as avalanche danger, etc., are absolutely required. The tourism office assumes no liability regarding the suggested tours.
