Description

The Westfalenhaus is a rewarding destination for ski tourers. The hut is open from mid-February to the end of April, and a winter room is also available.
The ascent begins in Lüsens with a view of the Lüsenser Fernerkogel. From there, head south until shortly before the end of the valley to the materials cable car. Turn right here and climb to the left next to the Fernaubach gorge on a steep section up to the Längentaleralm (1988 m). This is followed by a gentler ascent through the valley floor before you pass below the hut and finally reach the Westfalenhaus, ascending diagonally from the south.
Important safety advice: Please always use the winter trail! The summer trail remains avalanche-prone throughout the ski touring season and must not be used.
