Winter hiking with a view from the very top in Tyrol

The view of the mountains from above is unrivalled - and even more so in winter, when the Tyrolean Alps are cloaked in white. Winter hikes at altitude are unique experiences in nature, with fantastic views - including from many viewing platforms - and guaranteed snow. The higher up you go, the more peace and quiet you will find when hiking in the fresh winter air.

Even if you sometimes have to cover a few metres in altitude, all fitness levels will find their perfect winter hike at this altitude. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, it's best to go on an easy, rather flat tour like hike 7 or simply from the mountain to the valley like hike 10. Sporty hikers will definitely feel at home on hikes 1, 2 or 8. And if you want to decide first whether it should be sporty or fun, try hike 11.

In winter on the mountains, you can enjoy a fantastic panorama of the Tyrolean Alps everywhere. But if you want to experience a very special winter hiking adventure, we recommend evening hike 4, when the mountain peaks slowly turn yellow, orange, pink and purple at dusk, or hike 12, which takes you on snowshoes to the Schwarzer See natural monument.
