Description

The starting point for this leisurely winter hike is the hiking starting point directly opposite the Tourismus Info Ellmau. From there, the route leads through the village towards the Hartkaiserbahn. After the Gasthof Au, turn right and hike along the Weißache towards the Heimatmuseum. Continue following the road and keep left a short distance after the Ellmauer Hof. Then, always follow the signs towards Scheffau. After the district of Oberau, there are two options at the entrance to Scheffau or at the Gasthof Zum Wilden Kaiser: either along the pavement past the Koasa-Bäckerei directly into the village centre of Scheffau, or continue via the district of Blaiken and then on the groomed winter hiking trail parallel to the village ski run into the centre.

The public VVT regional bus takes you comfortably back to Ellmau. The tour can, of course, also be hiked in the opposite direction starting in Scheffau.
