Situated on a high plateau around 500 metres above the Oberinntal valley, the holiday region is perfect for holidaymakers who want to escape the stresses of everyday life. The three villages of Serfaus, Fiss and Ladis are located at the foot of the Samnaun group in the Oberes Gericht and have joined together to form a holiday region.
With over 2,000 hours of sunshine a year, it is one of the least cloudy areas in Tyrol. Families in particular feel at home here. The region has specialised in parents and their children more than almost any other holiday region in Tyrol - from children's hotels and adventure parks to top ski schools for the little ones. In Ladis, originally a Rhaeto-Romanic village, the typical townscape with centuries-old farmhouses, façade paintings and carvings on the gables is still well preserved. In the neighbouring village, the Fisser Blochziehen is an old custom: Every four years, the carnival with bear drivers, ghoulish witches and tail devils attracts many visitors to the high plateau.
