Wonderful mountain lakes, fabulous mountain views and lots of secluded spots where families will find peace and quiet make the Tirol Zugspitz Arena an excellent destination for relaxing holidays.
Nestling between lush green meadows, the Heiterwanger See lake is an oasis of sparkling blue where visitors come to cool off during the hot summer months. It is just a stone's throw from another lake, the Plansee, which is the second-largest body of water in Tirol. We recommend exploring the lake by boat, especially as the water is pretty cold even in summer. Warmer temperatures can be found at the Bärenbad Berwang outdoor pool and the Hallenbad Ehrwald indoor pool – both of which offer fabulous mountain views. The highest mountain in the region, the Zugspitze, is strictly speaking on German terrain, just over the border in Bavaria, but it can also be reached by cable car from Tirol. Families will enjoy the single-seater summer rollercoaster in Biberwier.
