Wide open valley floors lined by tall mountains stretching high into the sky – the Tiroler Zugspitz Arena provides a wonderful setting for a round of golf.
This region has just one golf club, the Tiroler Zugspitz Golf Lermoos-Ehrwald, but it is home to two 9-hole courses – the "Zugspitzrunde" and the "Sonnenspitzrunde" – which can be combined to make a single 18-hole championship course. Thanks to its altitude at over 1,000 metres above sea level the air remains pleasantly cool even in summer. The landscape is spectacular, including the craggy peaks of the Wetterstein Massif and the Zugspitze mountain on the border between Austria and Germany. The course itself is challenging and includes interesting features such as marshland and small ponds.
