The Glacier Marathon runs from Mandarfen to Grube-Arena in Arzl, crossing the whole length of scenic Pitztal Valley on its way. For the 18th time around, runners from around the world will be coming to the Pitztal mountains to participate in this beautiful event in 2024.
The fresh air of Pitztal Glacier rushing into your lungs as you push yourself through the stunning mountain scenery of Kaunergrat Nature Park is a runner’s dream! The organization of the event is incredible. They do an amazing job making sure that this is a fun event for everyone involved, from participants to spectators. The event has four different distances to choose from:
- Marathon: 42.195K
- Half Marathon: 21.2K
- Run & Fun: 11.2K
- Beginners’ Run: 5.5K
Marathon runners will enjoy varied terrain and spectacular views as they follow the course down losing 1,018 vertical meters, while challenging themselves with 198 vertical meters. For little ones, Pitz Park Wenns hosts the Pitzi Kids Run.
