Turquoise-blue water backdropped by spectacular mountains: The international Achensee Run is rightly considered one of the most scenic and traditional running events in Austria.
On September 07 and 08, 2024, the traditional race invites some 1,500 running enthusiasts to circumnavigate Tirol’s largest lake. At 23.2 kilometers, the run is a little longer than a half marathon. The course includes an elevation gain of 171 meters and nine kilometers of the route are on lakeside trails. The western shore route features root sections and rocky terrain up to Gaisalm Alpine Pasture Hut, a food station from where there are uninterrupted panoramic views over the spectacular Alpine lake. The race is open to solo runners or 2-person relay teams.
The 10K Fitness Run and a kids’ run (where children can select from the 400-meter or 2.6K races) take place one day earlier, on Saturday.
